Documenting chipmaking history, part two |

One of last week's posts discussed SEMI's Oral History project.
Another worthy contributor to the documentation of chipmaking's past and present is VLSI Research's online Chip History Center (which I've already added to Chip Shots' Website links). Dan Hutcheson and his team have put together an impressive and growing set of files, videos, links, etc. from the early days of the equipment and semi manufacturing businesses on up to the present. Dan's video interviews with Intel's Craig Barrett, Applied's Jim Morgan, and others (more of which can be found on VLSI's own site) are a noteworthy repository of oral history in and of themselves.
I will continue to add other chip, microelectronics, and nanotech history sites in future posts.
