New €100m R&D center opened by NXP in France |

NXP Semiconductors has opened a new R&D in Caen, France with an investment of €100m and a staffing level of approximately 800 engineers and researchers focused on platform engineering solutions for its core product areas. RF technologies-focussed R&D, silicon tuners, and System-in-Package process technologies related to semiconductors solutions will also be addressed at the facility.
“It demonstrates the importance of Europe in our annual one billion Euro R&D program and how we use this investment in innovation to maintain leadership in the high-growth areas where we focus,” stated Frans van Houten, President and Chief Executive Officer, NXP Semiconductors. “Our 6,000 strong European R&D team consistently deliver the technologies that enable our customers to bring competitive and differentiating products to market.” NXP’s R&D Center is located on the new EffiScience Technological Campus, Caen, France
