Election results from SPIE’s AGM held recently have been made public by SPIE 2007 President Brian Culshaw. New Society Officers for 2008 have been named as General Electric’s senior researcher Kevin G. Harding (pictured) as 2008 President; Maria J. Yzuel, optics professor at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona as 2008 President-Elect; associate lab. Director at Brookhaven National Laboratory Ralph B. James as 2008 Vice President; and Brian A. Lula, President and CEO of PI Physik Instrumente LP as 2008 Secretary/Treasurer. 

Three-year term Society Directors (effective January 1, 2008) are as follows:
Marta de la Fuente, Group Manager of Indra Systems’ Optical Design Group; Fernando Mendoza Santoyo, General Director for Ctr. de Investigaciones en Óptica; Kathleen M. Perkins, Breault Research Organization CEO; and Sandia National Labs’ principal member of technical staff and optical engineer David V. Wick.
