ImagePhotovoltaics and technology expert Dr. Martin Green (pictured) has been named as this year's recipient of the SolarWorld Einstein Award.  The third annual awards ceremony, taking place today at the 22nd European Solar Enerrgy Conference in Milan, will see Dr. Green presented with the prize fund of  €10,000 for outstanding contribution to the solar industry.

Dr. Green's research center at the University of New South Wales holds the world record of a 24.7 per cent degree of efficiency of crystalline solar cells.  A much-published author in both books and technical journals, Dr. Green is held in high esteem among the solar technology industry.

The 2007 Einstein Junior Award was presented to three degree students of the Hahn-Meitner Institute in Berlin for their study of the electrical properties of crystal grain boundaries.

SolarWorld is a leading solar wafer manufacturer.
