The new Gary Gann Scholarship, established in 2006 in memory of Gary
Gann, former long-serving General Council for Matheson Tri-Gas, was
presented to Sweta Ramachandran. This year marks the first year of
presentation of the scholarship, which awards $4,000 per year for
students taking science, engineering or law courses who are also
children of Matheson Tri-Gas employees.
This year's presentation took place in the company's Newark, California
facility, and was attended by Matheson Tri-Gas President and CEO James
Samples, Senior VP of Human Resources Jerry Cantrella, and Diana Gann,
widow of Gary Gann after whom this scholarship has been named.
Sweta
Ramachandran will be attending the University of California at Berkeley
majoring in Bioengineering-PreMed. Ms. Ramachandran is the daughter of
Matheson Tri-Gas employee Kavita Murthi, who is the Director of the
company's SDS Sub-Atmospheric Gas Systems sector.
