Green Building Design course plans for ISMI and USGBC Print E-mail
Aug 03, 2007 at 02:09 PM
ISMI and the Central Texas Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) have announced their intention to jointly run an environmentally-based course as part of ISMI Manufacturing Week, which runs from October 22-25.

The course, entitled "Understanding LEED for High-Tech Facilities," will cover topics included in the USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) exam and in the LEED Green Building Rating System.  The course is intended to spread the awareness of environmentally sustainable construction of fabs and could be helpful in a company's preparation for LEED certification.

Presenting the two-day course will be ISMI's James Beasley, ESH Technology Project Manager, and Barry Giles, Building Services Engineer for Moss Landing Marine Laboratories and recognized expert in eco-friendly design.  The two days of workshops and short courses will be followed by the ISMI Symposium on Manufacturing Effectiveness.

The course will be available to students and members of the public and will cost $450 each for non-ISMI member company representatives, while member companies will each receive one free seat with half-price admission for additional enrolments.
