Carl Zeiss SMT has awarded Corning Incorporated as its first ever ‘Supply Chain Partner'. A specially designed logo enables Corning to present itself as a certified Supply Chain Partner of Carl Zeiss SMT amongst closer collaborations expected between the companies.
Dr. Andreas Dorsel, Member of the Board at Carl Zeiss SMT and Vice President & General Manager of Lithography Optics, emphasizes "that substrate materials for our lenses, mirrors and other optical components are essential for the performance of the overall system. Resolution, long-term stability and transmission are only a few of the system features that are determined by the substrate materials. Designating Corning as a Supply Chain Partner demonstrates our recognition for the outstanding cooperation in the past and for Corning's high level of commitment." "In addition to winning the Carl Zeiss Supplier Award, achieving the Supply Chain Partner certification is strong evidence of Corning's commitment to being a leading supplier of optical materials to the semiconductor lithography industry," said Jim Steiner, senior vice president and general manager of Corning Specialty Materials. "Recognition from our customers reinforces Corning's continuous focus on customer service and our ability to develop innovative material solutions to enable continuous improvement in optical lithography." Corning received the Supplier Award during the first Supplier Day at the Carl Zeiss SMT factory in Oberkochen. Fourty of the most important suppliers of Carl Zeiss SMT participated in the Supplier Day from all over the world.
