Karl-Henrik SundstromNXP Semiconductors has appointed former Ericsson CFO Karl-Henrik Sundström (pictured) to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. Mr. Sundström replaces Peter van Bommel, who departed the company for personal reasons while agreeing to aid the company in its upcoming joint venture with STMicroelectronics.

Sundström joins NXP from Ericsson, from which role he resigned in 2007. He was named best CFO in Europe for three consecutive years by Institutional Investor magazine during his tenure with Ericsson, which saw him work in general management leading the company’s Global Services Operations and the company’s Australian division.

NXP Semiconductors is a major IDM.
