Freescale plans Scottish fab closure Print E-mail

According to David Manners' news story at Electronics Weekly, Freescale's fab in East Kilbride, Scotland is to close with the potential loss of over 1,000 jobs as the company seeks a buyer for the facility.

Rumors of such a move by Freescale have been muted since private equity firms acquired the company and a move to an asset-lite business model would be accelerated under the new ownership.
