NXP Semiconductors has announced the impending retirement of Theo
Claasen, Executive Vice President responsible for Business Development,
on August 1st 2008. The company has also released the news that Hein
van der Zeeuw (pictured), Executive Vice President responsible for
Operations, has resigned his role and will leave the company on October
1st, 2008.
The two vacancies on the NXP Board of Management and Executive
Management Team will be filled by Mark Hamersma and Chris Belden. Mr.
Hamersma will depart his current role as head of strategy to assume the
responsibilities of overseeing NXP’s business development and strategy.
Mr. Belden, currently responsible for global manufacturing, will step
into the role of Senior Vice President of Operations.
“I am
indebted to Theo and Hein for the great support and leadership they
have provided to NXP,” said NXP CEO, Frans van Houten. “I am grateful
that Theo was prepared to stay three years beyond his original planned
retirement in 2005 to help create the new company. And I would like to
thank Hein for his longstanding contributions to NXP, most notably
leading the Multimarket Semiconductors Business Unit until last year
with much success.”
