AvizaWIN Semiconductors Corporation has placed a multiple system order with Aviza Technology, consisting of Sigma fxP PVD, Delta fxP CVD, Omega fxP and i2L etch systems. The tools will be used for various process technologies required to fabricate GaAs devices. Shipments will be completed in the fourth quarter of Aviza’s Fiscal Year 2008.

“Aviza Technology clearly understands the critical applications of GaAs manufacturing specifically as it relates to PVD, CVD and etch processing,” said Dr. C.C. Chang, Associate Vice President at WIN Semiconductors Corp. “The company has demonstrated their technical expertise and reliable customer service and onsite support through the existing systems installed at WIN’s Fab A, which have consistently delivered robust volume manufacturing results. As a single point supplier for PVD, CVD and etch systems, Aviza was the obvious choice to facilitate WIN’s capacity ramp with minimal risk and to continue providing productive systems with high uptimes, process repeatability and process flexibility.”

The two companies have worked together since WIN Semiconductors setup its first 150mm GaAs foundry in Taiwan in 1999.
