QUALCOMM founders presented with James Clerk Maxwell Award |

Irwin Jacobs and Andrew Viterbi (pictured) have been announced as the recipients of the James Clerk Maxwell Award, co-funded by IEEE, the Royal Society of Edinburgh and Wolfson Microelectronics. The award recognizes international innovation in the realm of electronics, and will be presented in two parts.
Dr. Jacobs was presented with his award at the IEEE Honors Ceremony in Philadelphia on the 16th of June 2007, while Dr. Viterbi will receive his award at the RSE's summer event in Edinburgh on July 2nd, 2007.
The James Clerk Maxwell Award is named after the provider of the equations on the basis of which the electromagnetic wave theory, microwave techniques and basic communications technology were founded.
