Two Executive appointments for Virage Logic |

 Virage Logic has announced the appointment of a new chief marketing officer and vice president of silicon technology. Pete Rodriguez, former CEO and president of Xpedion Design Systems joins the company in the chief marketing officer roles, while the company's new vice president of technology has been named as Kamalesh Ruparel (pictured), formerly vice president of engineering for Anchor Bay Technologies.
Mr. Rodriguez, who will report to Virage Logic's CEO and president Dan McCranie, brings more than 23 years of engineering, sales and management experience to the role. Currently serving on the board of directors for EXAR, he preceded his time with Xpedion in a variety of senior sales and marketing positions at Escalade Corporation.
He also spent time in management and engineering positions with companies such as LSI Logic, Aerojet Electronics, Teledyne Microwave and Siliconix. Mr. Rodriguez has a B.Sc. in chemical engineering from California Institute of Technology, an M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
Mr. Ruparel's more than 22 years of experience in the IC industry were garnered from his time in senior positions with companies including Apple Computer and Texas Instruments. Prior to his time with Anchor Bay Technologies, he spent ten years at Cisco Systems in positions including director of engineering of the company's Datacenter, Security & Switching Technology Group.
A former senior engineer at both Texas Instruments and Vertex Semiconductor, Mr Ruparel has a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.Sc. in computer science from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Virage Logic is a semiconductor IP provider based in California.
