Sony to spend $490 million on 300mm fab capacity expansion Print E-mail

SonySony Semiconductor Kyushu Corporation's 300mm Fab 2 is to be extended by 5,000m² as part of program to boost production of CCD, CMOS sensors and micro-display devices.

Sony said that the expansion of the facility will cost approximately $490 million and will be spread over a three year period.
