Synopsys adds to Board of Directors |

Synopsys has added two independent directors to its board. Alfred "Al" Castino (pictured) and John G. Schwarz will serve on the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee respectively, and both will serve on the company's Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Mr. Castino has been CFO and senior vice president for Autodesk, Inc. since 2002. Previous positions include a role as CFO for Virage, Inc.; senior vice president and CFO for PeopleSoft; controller for Chiron Corporation; a post with Sun Microsystems where he worked on various financial assignments; and seven years with Hewlett-Packard Company in finance management roles. Mr. Castino has a CPA from the State of California, a B.A. in economics from Holy Cross College in MA and an M.B.A from Stanford University.
Currently serving as CEO of Business Objects, Mr. Schwarz's career began at IBM where he worked for 25 years on technical and management assignments. He also worked with Symantec Corporation and Reciprocal, Inc. in various executive management roles. He has a B.Sc. in computer science from the University of Manitoba, a diploma in business administration from the University of Toronto and an honorary Ph.D. from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
Synopsys, Inc. is an EDA software provider to the semiconductor industry.
