With the acquisition of BOC Edwards completed by CCMP Capital, the now independent group expects to grow revenues via a strategy of new product introductions and targeting emerging markets such as solar cell manufacturing.
"We believe that as an independent company BOC Edwards is ideally positioned to drive further growth in core existing markets such as semiconductors with an exciting range of new products coming through, whilst actively developing in new emerging markets such as solar where we will focus considerable additional resources," stated Stephen Welton of CCMP Capital Advisors.
BOC Edwards had over $1 billion in sales in 2006 and has become an independent company for the first time in nearly 40 years after being acquired by the Linde Group, but wanted to concentrate on its gases businesses. According to VLSI Research, BOC Edwards is ranked number 2 in its critical sub-systems category with sales of $600 million in 2006.
