Air Products has said that Samsung Austin Semiconductor's new 300mm memory manufacturing facility in Austin is now on-stream with its 450,000 standard cubic foot per hour (scf/hr) nitrogen generator. The fab is expected to enter volume production in the second half of 2007.
"The diversity of Air Products' product offering continues to position us as the go-to supplier to the global semiconductor industry," said Corning Painter, vice president of Electronics at Air Products. "Air Products is proud to be able to support Samsung's growth in the US, just as we have done in Korea." Air Products supplies bulk specialty gases and specialty gas and chemical equipment to the DRAM facility as well as a dedicated 240,000 scf/hr nitrogen generator for the 200mm fab located at the same complex.
