Richard O'Connor, CTO of Tundra Semiconductor and a founding member of the senior management team, has left the company with immediate effect to pursue other interests, confirmed by a spokesperson at the company.
O'Connor is replaced by another management member, Dr. Benny Chang (pictured). Dr. Chang will now lead the development of the Company's technology and intellectual property roadmap, Tundra said. In addition to the CTO role, Dr. Chang will continue in his current role as Vice President of Engineering. Another internal promotion was also announced with Mr. Ed Vopni promoted to Vice President of Operations. Dr. Chang has over 30 years' experience in the integrated circuit industry, joining Tundra in 2000, following its acquisition of Quadic Systems Inc., where he was Vice President of Research and Development. Dr. Chang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics, his Master of Science and his Ph.D. in Solid State Electronics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, United Kingdom. Mr. Vopni previously held the position of Director of Engineering at Tundra, having joined the company in 2003. Prior to joining Tundra, Mr. Vopni held progressively senior engineering roles at Gennum Corporation, Mitel, Nortel Networks and most recently at IceFyre Semiconductor.
