In two separate press releases, Silterra has announced the appointment of a new vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for Silterra Malaysia, and a new president of Silterra USA.
Lai Yit Loong (pictured) takes over as vice president of worldwide sales, replacing Kevin Bligh, who left the company earlier this year for personal reasons. Lai will coordinate the company's global marketing strategies from his base in Taiwan, reporting to company CEO Eg Kah Yee. His experience in the industry spans more than 20 years, having most recently been employed as vice president of sales and marketing for Nvidia's Taiwan and SE Asia regions. He spent 10 years with Intel in a variety of senior positions including country manager for Intel China, and also in both technical and sales positions with Computer Associates and Hewlett Packard.
Silterra has also announced its appointment of Dr. Charles Chan as president of Silterra USA, in which position he will drive North America's sales operations. Reporting to Lai Yit Loong, Chan brings over 17 years of semiconductor sales experience to the role, including positions such as vice president of foundry outsourcing for Huahong International; vice president of SMIC's America unit; senior account manager for TSMC North America and various senior technical positions at Intel and Micron Technology. He has B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees and a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Silterra is a semiconductor foundry based in Malaysia.
