Pyxis Technology has named the recipient of the title of president and CEO of the company as Joe Hutt, an EDA and DFM expert and an early investor in the company. Naeem Zafar, who has left the company to join Altair Ventures, had held the president and CEO position until his departure. Hutt was promoted to the board of directors until mid-2006, when he was appointed vice president of engineering. The recent announcement is accompanied by the news that Mitch Heins is to step into the vice presidential vacancy left by Mr. Hutt.
Hutt's background includes management of EDA companies and R&D teams, including his most recent post as vice president of technical sales for Magma Design Automation, which was preceded by a three-year spell as vice president of engineering for the company. His prior employment was with Synopsys where he managed the company's Advanced Technology Group. Hutt has also worked with IBM as program director and senior project manager for the VLSI Design systems division of the company. He has a B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Union College in New York.
Mitch Heins moves from vice president of business development to vice president of engineering. Heins' past career includes a role as senior director of silicon operations and products at HPL Technologies and a variety of senior management positions in such companies as Cadence Design Systems, Petersen Advanced Lithography and Ambit Design Systems. He also served in management roles at Texas Instruments for 12 years.
Pyxis Technology is a DFM company.
