Former Intel VP named as CEO for ZiLOG Print E-mail

ZiLOGFresh from his 14-year tenure with Intel, Darin Billerbeck has joined the ZiLOG team as president and CEO.  He will replace company director Robin Abrams, who stepped in as interim CEO following the resignation of James Thorburn from the post in late 2006.  Abrams will remain on as a member of ZiLOG's board of directors.

Billerbeck spent the past 14 years with Intel working in executive and management positions in Intel's Flash Products Group, and spent the past eight years as vice president and general manager of the Group.  He was director packaging and test technology from 1995 to 1997, and director of design engineering from 1997 to 1999 for the Flash Products Group.  Billerbeck has a BSc. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Davis.

ZiLOG is a fabless semiconductor company based in San Jose.
