S. SchwartzAsyst's organizational structure has undergone global unification changes with the integration of its Joint Venture AHMS operation between Asyst & Shinko into Asyst. The global integration structure brings with it news of the appointment of three new corporate officers. The two new leaders of the company's Automation Solutions Group, Paula LuPriore and Hitoshi Kawano, will jointly oversee the running of the Group's various IC, software and service divisions. Thomas Leitzke has been appointed head of Global Operations, and will oversee all supply chain management and manufacturing.

Mr. Kawano has been president of ASI (Asyst Shinko) since the founding of the collaboration in 2002.  Prior to the founding of the joint venture, Kawano had served at Shinko Electric since 1969 and had most recently been an executive managing director and board member.

Ms. LuPriore joined Asyst in 2002 as vice president of software with responsibility for factory interface, software and Auto-ID products.  She has also worked with IBM in the past in various vice president positions.

Mr. Leitzke has been a member of the Asyst team since 2004 when he joined as vice president of operations.  He has had previous employments with Applied Materials, Inc., Siemens Information Systems, and Silicon Graphics, Inc. in the capacity of senior operations executive.

CEO and Chairman of Asyst, Steve Schwartz (pictured), commented on the purpose of the restructuring: "We are establishing a single, global operations organization...[while] all of our sales and field service activities are being organized under the Customer Services division."  Anthony Bonora, CTO, executive vice president and Asyst Fellow will lead the company's Advanced Technology Development division, while Alan Lowe, senior vice president of Global Business Solutions, will lead the Customer Solutions division.

Asyst Technologies, Inc. is an automation systems supplier for the semiconductor and flat panel industries.
