AMD appoint ex-IBM manager to senior VP of technology development |

Douglas Grose has joined the AMD team in the capacity of senior vice president of technology development, manufacturing and supply chain. This role brings with it responsibility for the company's manufacturing and technology operations and supply chain management on a global scale. Grose replaces Daryl Ostrander, who retires in 2007 following a long career with AMD.
He joins AMD following his previous employment with IBM as general manager of technology development and manufacturing. Prior to his two years with IBM, Grose was executive vice president and COO of Nanotech Resources, Inc. He has also served as COO for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, a subsidiary of Hitachi. This subsidiary came about as a result of a merger with IBM's Storage Technology Business of which Grose was general manager at the time. He has a doctorate in materials engineering, a BSc. and an MBA and from Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute.
AMD is a major semiconductor manufacturer.
