UL5000INFICON has been awarded a $3 million contract from a major U.S. semiconductor equipment manufacturer for its UL5000 Helium Leak Detectors. Deliveries are expected to begin this quarter and will continue through 2010, according to the company.

"This multi-year contract demonstrates the confidence our customers have in INFICON and our market-leading products," stated Lukas Winkler, president and CEO of INFICON.  "After a competitive evaluation process, this long-time customer again chose INFICON helium leak detectors for quality testing in the manufacture of components and systems. The next-generation UL5000 replaces INFICON equipment currently in use and replaces other manufacturers' units with INFICON high-performance leak detectors, expanding our presence in this important market."
