The Board of Directors for Pixelworks has released the news that Mr. Allen Alley (pictured), President and CEO of the company for almost 10 years, has decided to resign his post to make way for new talent. While Alley will remain in his Chairman of the Board post, his role of company leader will be temporarily filled by the company's executive VP and COO, Hans Olsen, until they find a suitable replacement.
Olsen has been with Pixelworks since 1998 and has held his current post since 2001. He has worked with such companies as Trident Microsystems, Paradigm Technology, Inc. and Electronic Designs, Inc. The Board of Directors has set up a special committee to fill the positions of President and CEO. The announcement has followed the recent news that Pixelworks is to cut its 450-strong workforce down to 400 in a global cost-cutting move, beginning early in 2007.
Pixelworks is a fabless semiconductor company.
