"The market is experiencing a high demand for silane-based products in photovoltaics and for TFT/LCD manufacturing, as well as tightening supplies and increased operating costs," stated Rich Jahr, president of Air Liquide Electronics U.S. LP. "We are committed to try to seek ways to help minimize costs and increase efficiencies, but at this time, these price increases are necessary to continue to safely and reliably provide the high quality products and expert services that customers have come to expect from Air Liquide."

Customers can now expect pricing for silane to increase up to 20 percent as contracts allow, with price rising effective today, Air Liquide noted.
