WML ESD CenterUpdate: White Mountain Labs, a specialist in the testing and characterization of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and latch-up in ICs, has opened ‘The Center for ESD' in Phoenix Tech Center, Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A. The 19,400 square foot building houses a 4,000 square foot test facility with conductive flooring for consistent ESD testing of semiconductor components, according to the company.

"The completion of The Center for ESD marks a milestone in the progress that White Mountain Labs has made," said Dr. Brenda McCaffrey, President of White Mountain Labs. "The prime location of the facility partnered with the cutting-edge test environment enables us to offer innovative services to our customers, which will allow for the continued growth of the Company."

White Mountain Labs plans to double its engineering staff in the next 18 months.

Update 28th November 2006: White Mountain Labs new ‘Center for ESD' has received ISO 17025 accreditation. This, according to WML makes the new facility the only ESD laboratory with ISO 17025 accreditation globally.

"Achieving a perfect audit is especially rare when a company moves into a brand new facility," said Hershal Brewer, calibration laboratories accreditation officer for International Accreditation Service, Inc. (IAS).  "Receiving no corrective action during the accreditation process speaks to the professionalism and diligence of White Mountain Labs. The company has become one of our flagship laboratory accreditations."
