Advanced Energy Industries, Inc., announced that Frederick A. Ball was selected as the newest member to the company’s Board of Directors. Ball is currently the CFO for Webroot, a software security company, and a member of the Board of Directors and the audit committee for Electro Scientific Industries.

Hans Betz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Energy, said, "We are excited to welcome Fred to our Board. His executive leadership experience in finance, operations and the semiconductor markets should make him a strong addition to the board of Advanced Energy Industries."

Ball has held several executive positions including Senior VP and CFO of Big Band Networks, a provider of network platforms for broadband multimedia services, CFO and Executive VP of Corporate Development and Mergers Acquisitions at Borland Software Corporation, a supplier of enterprise software development solutions, and VP of Mergers and Acquisitions and VP of Finance for KLA-Tencor Corporation. Ball was also previously a CPA with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has a B.S. in accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
