Semiconductor, Inc. has designated Ferris Chen as its new Director of
Asian Sales to manage the company’s growing WaferSense brand in the
region and implementation fabs located in Taiwan, China, Singapore and
Malaysia. Chen has held diverse sales roles in the Asian semiconductor
industry, most recently as Sales Director of Greater China for Zygo
Corporation.
"Ferris has worked with fabs across Asia to overcome metrology and processing challenges, and he's certainly had an accomplished career," commented Craig C. Ramsey, Ph.D. and General Manager of CyberOptics. "He'll continue to help fab engineers and managers demonstrate -- from a financial and production standpoint -- the essential role of wireless automated metrology."
Chen will manage CyberOptics connections wit 300mm and 200mm fabs in the region along with the company’s Asian distribution partners. He will be active in the Asian divisions of SEMI, SEMATECH and ISMI and promote the company’s portfolio of reflective wafer-mapping sensors under its HAMA Sensors brand.
Chen has had roles in sales and sales management with RVSI Inspection, Mykrolis and Marketech International Corporation. At RVSI he helped build the company’s sales division and its year-to-year revenue by 500 and 400 percent at the supplier.
Chen received his B.A. in advertising and marketing from Chung-Yuan University, Taiwan and will be based at the company’s Hsin-Chu, Taiwan location.
