As part of the $125 million all cash transaction that Applied Materials has spent on the purchase of Brooks Software, approximately 600 Brooks employees will transfer to Applied, according to Brooks Automation executives in a conference call with financial analysts to discuss the software division sale.

With Brooks Software employees based around the world, it is expected that Applied will incorporate the new staff within its own facilities where possible.

Brooks Automation will have approximately 1,800 full time employees after the close of the transactions and approximately 400 contract workers.
