With a successful qualification of a jointly developed optical dielectric material between Nissan Chemical Industries and Silecs, Inc. for a Nissan customer in Japan, Nissan has entered into a distribution agreement with Silecs for the Japanese market.
"We are pleased to form this alliance, extending our product offerings to include new products developed by Silecs, as well as jointly developed products," said Masaru Iida, director of the Electronic Materials Division of Nissan Chemical Industries. "We have been very impressed by Silecs' development and production capabilities, and are pleased to enter into a long term partnership with Silecs."
The initial marketing focus in Japan will be for CMOS and CCD image sensor optical dielectric materials and will later expand to other semiconductor and flat panel display applications. "Nissan Chemical is an outstanding partner with excellent customer relationships and strong distribution and manufacturing capabilities, and will provide a solid local source for our products for the Japanese microelectronics market," added Fred McNeil, vice president of sales for Silecs.
