Dow Corning Corp has announced the promotion of two of its employees, Thomas H. Cook and Jeroen Bloemhard (pictured). Cook assumes the role of general manager of the Service Enterprise Unit, while Bloemhard takes over Cook's previous role of global industry executive director for Dow Corning's Electronics and Advanced Technologies Unit.
Cook's four-year term of service as industry executive director saw double-digit growth of the company's electronic materials business, according to the company. His new position will see him overseeing the provision of the company's service solutions. Bloemhard, who has been with the company for 15 years, takes over Cook's previous position and has said that he intends to carry on the work done by Cook and also increase the company's interest in the Chinese market: "We believe we are well positioned to help advance the electronics industry in Asia by leveraging our expertise and global networks."
Bloemhard joined Dow Corning Canada's marketing group in 1991 and recently held the position of global marketing director for the Electronics and Advanced Technologies business. Prior to this, he served as Greater China commercial manager, directing the establishment of product development and manufacturing capability in China.
Dow Corning Corporation is a global provider of materials, application technology and materials for the electronics industry and has centers in Asia, Europe and the U.S.
