ImageSipex Corporation has finally closed its Hillview facility in Milpitas, California, a year after declaring it would become a fabless company. The company is now fabricating its analog products at Hangzhou Silan Microelectronics Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Silan Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd., located in Hangzhou, China. Both its BiPolar and BiCMOS processes and fab tools have been transferred to the Chinese foundry.

"This fabless transition is critical to making Sipex profitable," said Ralph Schmitt, CEO of Sipex. "We are pleased with the progress of transferring our products and process technologies to our outsourced partners. The efforts of the Sipex team have been outstanding."

Sipex announced in March, 2006, the completion of the sale and property lease-back of its Hillview facility in Milpitas, California, to Mission West Properties L.P.
