Tool Order: Solar-cell equipment manufacturer in multiple power systems orders with Advanced Energy Print E-mail
Jul 31, 2006 at 07:06 PM

Solar-cell equipmentKraft Project Electronics Ltd. (KPE), a supplier of solar-cell manufacturing equipment, has placed multiple orders with Advanced Energy for its RF and DC power-delivery systems for integration into their plasma-enhanced, chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD) tools. The orders call for AE to provide 50 MW of solar-cell production capacity in 2006. AE has already delivered power supplies for systems with a capacity of 15 MW in 2006.

"We were looking for a power systems partner with whom we could enjoy a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship. AE is that company," noted the KPE's General Manager, Attila Horvath. "Because we sell complete solar-cell manufacturing equipment to companies in Thailand, China, Vietnam as well as other countries, it is critical that we work with a company possessing a strong and responsive global sales and support infrastructure. AE's power delivery systems contribute to our success by providing the repeatability and reliability that enable us to meet the increasing global demand for solar-cell equipment."

Cesar RF generators are designed to meet demanding plasma process requirements. They are available in a wide variety of frequencies (from 2 to 60 MHz) and a wide variety of power levels (from 300 W to 5 kW). Pinnacle Plus+ pulsed DC power supplies provide higher deposition rates, more repeatable performance and exceptional film quality compared to complicated AC-power solutions for reactive sputtering and complex metallic sputtering processes, according to AE.

"As the solar-cell market segment grows, AE is well positioned with technology solutions that enable our global customers to benefit from continued industry growth," commented Dr. Hans Betz, president and CEO of AE.
