The Russian Government is funding a new nanotech centre in Moscow to the tune of $400 million US dollars by the end of 2007, according to FEI Company, which has been selected as a key equipment supplier to the ‘Pilot Scientific and Technical Center of Excellence for Nanotechnology Development.'
Nanotech researchers from across the Russian Federation are expected to gain access to the center. The new center has purchased a Tecnai T12 and T30 Transmission Electron Microscope from FEI, while FEI's Russian sales representative firm is supplying a Quanta 3D DualBeam, though it was not made clear if the tool was a free placement as part of the combined tool order deal.
