New Product: Cleanroom compatible keyboards from Unotron Print E-mail

UnotronProduct Briefing Outline: Unotron has produced a range of keyboards and mice that are compatible with cleanroom environments and can be repeatedly immerse cleaned to control particulates. Under the ‘SpillSeal' technology label, the Unotron keyboard and peripherals meet NEMA4/IP 66 specifications while offering performance standards expected for daily use, according to the company.

Problem: The air in a cleanroom is repeatedly filtered to remove dust particles and other impurities that can damage the production of highly sensitive technologies. Concerns of cleanroom professionals that computer keyboards and other peripherals are contributing to rising infection rates, airborne contamination and possible product corruption have been growing due to the use of standard designs being used or protective covers failing to protect the keyboard.

Solution: Unotron's SpillSeal patented technology allows its keyboards and peripherals to be repeatedly washed with commercial-grade disinfectants, soap, bleach, and alcohol-based products, without compromising the effectiveness or user-friendly touch and feel of the keyboards and mice. They are water and dust-proof tested to IP66 & NEMA4X.

Applications: Cleanrooms for a wide range of industries including semiconductor assembly, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, aerospace, food, medical devices and hospitals.

Platform: 104 standard keys plus 15 multimedia keys give you flexible performance.  Optional programmable hotkey software is available. Plug and Play with Windows® 95/98/ME/2000/XP

Availability: May 2006 onwards.
