Fairchild Semiconductor has awarded the "C. Sheldon Roberts Silicon Supplier of the Year" to MEMC Electronic Materials, which is the fourth time in five years that MEMC has received this award from Fairchild.
"Congratulations to the MEMC Team members, who support Fairchild Semiconductor's global wafer fab operations, for being selected as the 2005 award recipient for the "silicon" category," stated Eric Kruger, Fairchild's Purchasing Manager for North American wafer fabs. "MEMC's continued attention to detail in supporting Fairchild Semiconductor's requirements is greatly appreciated and contributes to the success of both parties." The award was granted based on a total score received on Fairchild Semiconductor's extensive supplier performance evaluation, which comprises scores in fields such as quality, delivery, service, cost-of-ownership, technology, and environmental. The award is named after C. Sheldon Roberts, one of the founders of the original Fairchild Semiconductor, and the company's first material specialist, known for working with suppliers to build quality into their process. "We are very pleased to receive this important award from Fairchild Semiconductor," said Sean Hunkler, MEMC's Senior Vice President of Operations. "We place great value on our relationship with Fairchild Semiconductor and this award underscores our commitment to consistently provide them with the highest quality, most advanced silicon products."
