Vistec Semiconductor SystemsA Korean chip manufacturer has ordered a further three LWM9000 SEM tools from Vistec Semiconductor Systems, formally Leica Microsystems for its advanced mask shop. The CD measurement tool was launched in 2005 and the company now claims a 70 percent market share for such tools.

"The superior measurement performance as a result of the outstanding stability of the system convinces more and more customers", said Klaus-Dieter Roeth, Senior Product Manager Mask Metrology.

The company also claimed that its business alliance with Advantest, established in 2004 to develop, manufacture and sale the LWM9000 SEM tool has been successful in selling and installing over ten systems at various customers facilities since the project began.

Vistec is also claiming that its registration mask metrology system the LWM9000 SEM launched last year to support 65nm mask production has been selected as the tool of choice at captive mask shops in the US and Asia Pacific and has obtained a 100 percent market share in that time.
