Powerchip Semiconductor (PSC) has been
given a new license by Renesas Technology that allows PSC to fabricate 1Gbit
AG-AND flash memory devices and market them under its own branding.
PSC bought a 300mm shuttered fab from
struggling Macronix to boost production of NAND Flash for contract customer's
such as Renasas Technology and for its own use in January 2006.
