The December 2005 Book-to-Bill Report from SEMI shows a near 5 percent improvement over the November bookings figure of $1.09 billion US dollars.

The three-month average of worldwide billings in December 2005 was $1.19 billion. The billings figure is about half of a percent above the final November 2005 level of $1.18 billion and 10 percent below the December 2004 billings level of $1.32 billion, according to SEMI.

"Bookings for North American-based semiconductor equipment providers continue to show strength for a third consecutive month," said Stanley T.Myers, president and CEO of SEMI. "The positive momentum reflects growing confidence in the industry and indicates a positive outlook for the year ahead."
