Isonics Corporation has claimed that revenues
associated with its semiconductor operations has grown by 50 percent in the
quarter ended October 31, 2005 compared to the previous quarter. More than 90%
of the increase in semiconductor segment revenues is attributable to 300mm
wafer reclaim work.
"While
our silicon wafer business is not profitable and is still incurring a negative
cash flow, we are seeing positive trends since June when we hired Joanna
Lohkamp, a former Intel executive, as chief operating officer for this business
unit," commented James Alexander, Isonics' Chairman & CEO. "Her
focus on quality, improving production yields and engineering processes has
resulted in a substantially improved manufacturing operation. The discipline
Joanna has brought from Intel and instilled into this part of Isonics can be
credited for the improved performance, as can the extra effort provided by the
whole Vancouver team."
"The
market demand for our 300mm products and services is very encouraging,"
Ms. Lohkamp related. "We now have two consistent 300mm customers. Based on
discussions with other companies, we anticipate receiving additional
qualification orders which, if successfully completed, can be expected to lead
to higher volume, long-term production orders."
