Cabot Microelectronics Corporation has begun
construction of its Technology Services Center in ChuPei, Taiwan. The centre
should be completed in 1Q06 and will cater for CMP slurry formulation development,
specifically for copper interconnect applications.
"By
investing in this facility in Taiwan, we support our strategic initiative of
getting closer to our customers," stated William P. Noglows, Cabot
Microelectronics' Chairman and CEO. "Not only should this center provide
faster turnaround on custom slurry formulations and product development for our
customers in Taiwan, it will also support our previously announced plan to
transition from a third-party distributor to selling directly to our Taiwan
customers, beginning in April of 2006."
