ImageDr. Edward Ross (pictured), a seasoned industry veteran with a wealth of industry leadership experience, has been appointed to the Atmel Board as an Independent Director. Dr. Ross’s most recent role was as President Emeritus of TSMC North America, to which role he was appointed in 2005.

IBM's Louise Trevillyan receives award for women in EDA Print E-mail

ImageLouise Trevillyan has been awarded the 9th Annual Marie R. Pistilli Award for Advancement of Women in EDA. Ms. Trevillyan is a Research Staff Member in the Design Automation Department of IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Center, and will be presented with the awarded during the Workshop for Women in Design Automation on June 9th at a ceremony in the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

Artusi resigns as Conexant CEO; new leader named Print E-mail

ImageConexant has announced the departure of President and CEO Daniel Artusi after a mere 10 months in the role. Artusi has resigned to pursue other opportunities, according to the company, and will be replaced in the role of CEO by D. Scott Mercer (pictured), a member of the Board.

ImageIn a further shock to the system that is AMD, Phil Hester (pictured), AMD CTO since 2005 has departed the company to “pursue other opportunities.” The news was leaked by AMD to certain mainstream newspapers but the company did not make an official announcement.

Cymer adds two technology veterans to Scientific Advisory Board Print E-mail

C. ProglerCymer, Inc. has added Dr. Chris Progler (pictured) and Dr. Patrick Naulleau to its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Dr. Progler is CTO and Executive Vice President for Photronics, while Dr. Naulleau joins the company as Lead Scientist for Lawrence Berkeley Lab’s Center for X-Ray Optics.
