Gopal Solanki (pictured) has taken over the Magnum Semiconductor CEO role from Jack Guedj, the company announced yesterday. Joining the company from NVIDIA, where he was Senior Vice President for the company’s chipset business, he brings over 20 years of semiconductor industry experience to the CEO role. 

Lattice Semiconductor has announced the impending resignation of CEO Steve Skaggs on May 31st, 2008. Currently serving as CEO and President of the company, Mr. Skaggs’ reason for his resignation was not disclosed. He has served as CEO since 2005 and will aid in the search for a replacement until his effective date of resignation is reached. 

Neah Power has added Joseph R. Bronson, President and COO for Sanmina-SCI, to serve on its Strategic Advisory Board. A 20-year veteran of Applied Materials earlier in his career, Mr. Bronson brings years of experience in senior management roles to Neah’s board. 

Former Qualcomm executive Jeffrey Belk (pictured) has been added to Peregrine Semiconductor’s Board of Directors, bringing years of senior management and strategic marketing experience to the role.  

Dr. Hamza Yilmaz has been added to the Alpha & Omega team, taking up the role of Executive Vice President of Business Development for the fabless company. A seasoned executive of power semiconductor companies, he has a B.S.E.E. from Yildiz Technical University, an M.S.E.E. from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. 

The vacancy left by Mike Goguen on the Ikanos Board of Directors has been filled today by Frederick M. Lax (pictured), a telecommunications industry veteran. A Non-Executive Director, Mr. Lax brings more than 30 years of experience to the role. 

As a member of the Sanmina-SCI Board of Directors and as Chairman of the company’s Audit Committee, John P. Goldsberry’s (pictured) years of financial executive experience should serve him well in his new role. 

Following Robert Woodbury’s resignation from the role of CFO and Executive Vice President of Brooks Automation in December 2007, Richard Small was brought on board to add the interim CFO role to his title of Senior VP and Corporate Controller. The company has now named a permanent replacement for Mr. Woodbury as Martin S. Headley, who assumes the title of CFO and EVP with immediate effect. 

Veeco Instruments’ Metrology and Instrumentation division has received a new leader in the form of Mark Munch, Ph.D. Taking over as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the M&I division, he will also oversee the company’s AFM products line. 

Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. (ESI) has announced the election of Edward C. Grady  (pictured) as the company’s newest Board member. Mr Grady retired from the role of CEO of Brooks Automation in August 2007, and is currently a member of the Board for companies including Molecular Imprints and Verigy.
