Taiwan-based Mosel Vitelic has signed a five-year contract to receive multicrystalline solar wafers from LDK Solar Co., Ltd., that is valued at approximately $190 million with delivery expected to start in 2008. 

LDK Solar Co., Ltd has signed contracts to supply multicrystalline solar wafers and to purchase polysilicon production equipment from Sunways AG. LDK Solar will deliver approximately 1 GW of multicrystalline solar wafers to Sunways over a ten-year period starting in 2008. 

Solar Semiconductor, a solar photovoltaic module producer, has awarded ersol Solar Energy AG a contract worth $170 million to supply 156mm mono and multi-crystalline solar cells. These solar cells will be used for solar module production in Solar Semiconductor’s new PV module manufacturing plant in Hyderabad, India. 

Air Liquide has said that it has won a ten-year contract to supply Sunfilm with industrial and specialty gases and services at its first major thin-film solar plant currently being constructed in Grossröhrsdorf, Germany. The contract comes under Air Liquide’s ALUX turnkey specialty gas solutions for the solar industry that includes the supply and management of provision of nitrogen, hydrogen, silane, NF₃ and helium. 

ATMI has purchased Intermolecular’s complete ‘Tempus’ Fluids-based ‘High-Productivity Combinatorial’ (HPC) workflow for accelerated research and development (R&D) practices after discovering that its use enabled an improved process efficiency solution for a major foundry in Taiwan.

Hynix Semiconductor has placed a long-term contract with Air Products for the supply of nitrogen that will be used in a new back-end test and packaging fab which Hynix is building in the Cheongju Industrial Complex, North Chungcheong Province, Korea.
