LDK Solar Co., Ltd has signed contracts to supply multicrystalline solar wafers and to purchase polysilicon production equipment from Sunways AG. Solar Semiconductor, a solar photovoltaic module producer, has awarded ersol Solar Energy AG a contract worth $170 million to supply 156mm mono and multi-crystalline solar cells. Linde Electronics has said that it has installed the semiconductor industry’s first on-site fluorine blending module at UMCi in Singapore. Linde replaced the 300mm fabs fluorine cylinder system with two new ‘Generation-F’ on-site fluorine generators, intended to reduce operating costs and improve safety due to the reduction in cylinder handling related to fluorine use in CVD chamber cleaning.Write Comment (0 comments) |

Air Liquide has said that it has won a ten-year contract to supply Sunfilm with industrial and specialty gases and services at its first major thin-film solar plant currently being constructed in Grossröhrsdorf, Germany. The contract comes under Air Liquide’s ALUX turnkey specialty gas solutions for the solar industry that includes the supply and management of provision of nitrogen, hydrogen, silane, NF3 and helium. Praxair China has said that it plans to build a new specialty gases facility in the Nanjing Science Park, in Nanjing, China. The new center should be fully operation in August 2008 with a second phase yet to be announced focused on electronics-grade gases and mixtures to serve the semiconductor industry. ATS Automation Tooling Systems has said that its Photowatt France subsidiary has entered into a multi-year agreement to purchase high-purity polysilicon from WACKER Chemie AG. Under the agreement, WACKER will deliver polysilicon to support approximately 14 megawatts of Photowatt solar production per annum. Deliveries are expected to begin in January 2010 and continue for a nine-year period.
