GermaniumSilicon is reaching the end of the road according to SEMATECH member companies after a meeting with researchers late last year that kicked off research to narrow down the materials that would one day replace silicon.

Isonics completes first phase 300mm wafer qualification Print E-mail

WaferIsonics Corporation has stated that it has successfully completed the first phase of qualification for the supply of 300mm wafers to its first two chip manufacturing customers during the past quarter. The second phase approvals are on going with Isonics believing revenues could start in subsequent quarters.

Air ProductsAir Products is hiking its prices by 15 percent for non-standard products in its Electronic Specialty Materials (ESM) portfolio, effective 1 April 2006. Other increases, ranging from 4 to 15 percent on select ESM products such as WF6, HCL, N2O and NH3, will be made due to substantial increases in raw material and other costs, the company reports. The 15 percent charge for non-standard ESM products results from Air Products' drive towards product standardization.
