A new report from Strategies Unlimited highlights the rapid growth expected from advanced substrates such as gallium nitride and aluminum nitride. ATMI establishes copper technology center in Hsinchu, Taiwan Print E-mail

ImageATMI has announced that it has officially opened its first major Asia Technology Development Center based in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The new facility is intended, according to the company, to provide technical, analytical, testing, and consulting services to ATMI customers that implement advanced copper processes.

NEC’s Roseville fabNEC Electronics America's Roseville, CA semiconductor complex has awarded a ten-year contract for the supply of bulk gases to Praxair Electronics, a division of Praxair Inc. Rohm and Haas secures buy in and exclusive use of Nanophase’s CMP nano-materials Print E-mail

ImageRohm and Haas Electronic Materials' CMP Technologies division has extended its worldwide exclusive agreement with Nanophase Technologies for its nano-materials that are used in Rohm and Haas' CMP slurries, and particularly for polishing slurries for Shallow Trench Isolation (STI), which is an especially difficult process step for CMP. ImageBASF has announced that it has started construction of a new integrated production plant for process chemicals for the semiconductor industry. BASF said it is investing a double-digit million Euro sum in the Electronic Material Center Europe in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2007 and will serve semiconductor fabs in Europe with both standard and customized products, while creating 60 jobs in Ludwigshafen, BASF's HQ complex and the largest industrial complex in Europe on a single site.Write Comment (0 comments)

Hoku Scientific to build polysilicon plant in Hawaii Print E-mail

ImageHoku Scientific has set in motion plans to build a polysilicon production plant in Hawaii, where the company is located, to provide its own supply of the material for photovoltaic cell production as well as to supply the market in general.
