ImageAccording to the new 2006 Top Ten merchant suppliers of critical subsystems to the semiconductor industry, VLSI Research reported that Carl Zeiss SMT retained the top spot in the rankings once again due to the strong performance of supplying high-value lens assembly systems to ASML.

Order Win: Asyst receives multiple 200mm SMIF product orders Print E-mail

ImageAsyst Technologies has received multi-million dollar orders from a variety of 200mm fabs that include SMIF loadports, indexers and wafer stockers. Fabs include: EM Microelectronic of Switzerland, Shanghai Huahong NEC Electronics Co., Ltd (HHNEC) of China and additional semiconductor fabs in China and Russia.

UCT picks up "Outstanding Supplier" status from Lam Research Print E-mail

UCTUltra Clean Technology (UCT) has been awarded "Outstanding Supplier" status by Lam Research for the second year in a row. 56 suppliers were nominated for the award this year via Lam's Quality Scorecard procedure. UCT apparently led the field of six top suppliers with the highest overall score for 2006.

RITE TRACK provides repair service on TEL Mark platform Print E-mail

ImageRITE TRACK has started offering TEL's Mark track users a repair service for broken circulators, which are located close to the temperature control racks. The reason for the service is that many types of TEL circulators are no longer available new.  John Noyes, Rite Track Director of Marketing, said: "This new service is an example of the many ways Rite Track is expanding the capabilities and extending the life of TEL's Mark tracks."Write Comment (0 comments)
Private equity firm buys semiconductor arm of BOC Edwards for $900 million Print E-mail

RotorsCCMP Capital, a private equity firm with previous ties to JPMorgan Chase & Co., has signed a deal to acquire the semiconductor equipment arm of BOC Edwards for an agreed sum of just over $900 million US dollars. The deal includes the vacuum pumps business and other related semiconductor equipment businesses of BOC Edwards, a company that was put up for sale after The BOC Group was acquired by The Linde Group last year. The pharmaceutical division of BOC Edwards will remain a subsidiary of The Linde Group and is not included in the deal.

INFICON wins sub-system assembly leak detection testing contract Print E-mail

ImageAdvanced Energy Industries has said that a leading equipment supplier to the data storage industry has standardized on AE's Pinnacle Plus+, pulsed-DC power supply system. According to AE, the customer's reason for standardizing was because of the system's proactive arc management, pulsing-power delivery, and compatibility with a broad range of both metallic and reactive materials.

ImageHUETTINGER Elektronik GmbH + Co. KG has officially completed the construction and move in of a new €27million head office building at Haid Industrial Park in Freiburg, Germany. The company, a subsidiary of the TRUMPF Group, a German-based machine tool builder and laser specialist, has completed the company move to the new premises.
